 04:30 igår morse begav vi oss iväg från Nikkaluokta. Planen var att försöka ta oss fram längs sommarleden om det var möjligt och 15 timmar senare var vi framme vid vårt basläger på Kebnekaises fjällstation. Det var en lång vandring med tung packning och blandat underlag. Mycket upptorkad mark, men snöpartierna var jobbiga att forcera och snögenombrott tog på krafterna. 

Två dagar blev en
Tidsmässigt var planen att gå in till Kebnekaise fjällstation på två dagar. Grundtanken var att vi skulle gått upp norrut via Fångstgroparna och sen runda via Cievratjåkka och komma ner på leden från Tarrfala och sen följa den in till fjällstationen.

Nu visade det sig att det var mer upptorkat än vi trott och efter att ha pratat med de som varit i området nyligen så bestämde vi oss för att försöka ta oss in via sommarleden. Anna Sarri som hjälpt oss med boende i Nikkaluokta hade fått rapport om en man som kommit gående ut på leden helgen innan. Bra nyheter! Om det fungerade skulle vi kunna nå in på en dag och sen bestämma nästa steg efter det.

Bra väder, och lite guldkant på äventyret
Lyxen av att vara helt ensamma på fjället och klockan åtta på morgonen sitta med en kopp kaffe i solen efter vår tidiga lunch är en klar guldkant på vilket äventyr som helst. Så vackert och vilsamt för själen. En liten tupplur på det innan vi begav oss iväg var pricken över i och den behövdes med tanke på utmaningen vi hade framför oss.

Barmark och djup snö – ny utmaning
Att gå med tung packning är i sig en utmaning och vi gick en kilometer på ca 20 minuter exklusive pauser. Helt ok tempo. Så glad att vi tränat på detta innan och också genomfört vandringar ihop.

Det som tog på krafterna var de partier av djupsnö där vi var tvungna att spåra och där framförallt jag gick igenom upp över knäna och låren. Riktigt jobbigt att häva mig upp med stavarna varje steg som jag bröt igenom. Steg för steg, stavtag för stavtag framåt och hålla reda på vart leden tog vägen under snön.

 

Vilma

Vilma bröt igenom snön oftare ju senare det vart på dagen och just detta med snögenombrott var för oss som som motvind för en cyklist. Tungt både för kroppen och för sinnet. Taktiken vi utvecklade efter ett tag var att gå runt dessa partier och endast ge oss på de snöområden som vi måste.

Snö

Snöskorna kom väl till pass och var till stor avlastning och hjälp. Partierna låg dock så pass långt ifrån varandra att vi inte kunde ha snöskorna på hela tiden. Men då de kom till nytta sparade vi en hel del tid och krafter. Riktigt bra utrustningsval att ha med sig.

Viktigt att lyfta blicken
När det är som tyngst så är det viktigt att stanna upp och lyfta på blicken ibland. Det är så lätt att bara mala på och missa allt vackert omkring som man har. Det ger ny energi och så skönt att få perspektiv på det jag gör.

Om jag bara maler på och bara tittar ner i marken så kommer jag inte långt. Men om jag tittar upp då och då och ser målet samt det jag har omkring mig så blir det som ren energi in i min kropp. Allt blir lättare även när det är som tyngst. Och vilka minnen jag får med mig hem. Underbart!

Upplevelsen häruppe är av oerhört stora kontraster med is, barmark, sol, snö och idag regn. Naturen är verkligen otroligt vacker och häftig. Även en lång dag med en riktigt tuff utmaning.

Äntligen framme!
Trötta, hungriga men med breda leenden var vi äntligen framme. Jag hade precis gått rakt igenom snön upp till midjan och var tvungen att ta av mig ryggan för att komma upp. Så glädjen att se stationen 100 m senare var fantastisk. Lång, tuff dag till ända och vi slog läger för natten  i det nödrum som är öppet när stationen är stängd. Bra att kunna torka upp det som vart blött av alla snögenombrott och även att kunna packa om så att vi bara har med det som behövs för toppförsöket dagarna framöver.

Det har regnat en del idag och sent ikväll kommer vi bege oss iväg mot toppen när det slutat regna. Vårt försök kommer gå via västra leden och första utmaningen blir att ta oss över Kittelbäcken. Idag har vi fyllt på med vila, energi, studerat vädret och planerat. Kommer bli spännande dagar framöver. Ha en skön helg alla!
