Från Ytterhogdal till Storuman såg jag inte solen en enda gång, termometern passerade precis 10 grader och regnet öste ner.

Nu cyklar jag E45:an större delen av vägen. Från Ytterhogdal till Svappavaara så slipper jag att använda gps:en så mycket. Och tur är väl det. Regnet har öst ner sedan jag lämnade Ytterhogdal, undantaget på kvällarna.

Sista fyra milen in till Östersund fick jag sällskap av Reinhold Skoglund. Han fyller 73 i september och har cyklat 26 Vätternrundor. Den snabbaste gjorde han i år som 72:åring på 9.56.

När jag hade det som värst mellan Östersund och Hoting, +3grader och regn. Så tog Omar hand om mig när jag blev tvungen att stanna för att jag frös så mycket.

Omar kom till Sverige för 1,5 år sedan efter att ha flytt kriget i Syrien. Hans fru och två barn på 3 och 1,5 blev kvar i Turkiet. Den yngst dottern har han bara träffat i 20 dagar innan de var tvungna att ge sig av.

För att göra sig förstådd i Sverige har han blivit tvingad att lära sig svenska då han inte pratar engelska. Från första veckan har han gått över till grannar för att prata med dem och bjudit in dem på middagar för att kunna lära sig språket och komma in i samhället. Han har fått ett jobb och betalar skatt och det enda han vill är att hans familj kommer till Sverige. Vi hade ett väldigt långt och trevligt samtal och han var mån att ta hand om mig. Blev även erbjuden sängplats trots att han skulle iväg och jobba.

Cyklingen mellan Hoting och Storuman blev odramatisk. Det föll regn på mig men inte i några större mängder till skillnad mot vad det gjort i Storuman under dagen så jag var glad att jag klarade mig.

Från Storuman till Arvidsjaur fick jag efter tre dagar av saknad äntligen sol igen Det var dock kallt i början, runt 10 grader vid starten. När jag kom fram till Sorsele tog jag sikte mot Hembygdsgården som hade annonserat om våfflor och lunch långt innan samhället. På plats så är det någon raggarträff fullt med bilar, öltält och massa folk och musik. Menyn var begränsad till detta evenemang men fick mig ändå en våffla som jag längtat efter i 4 dagar.
