Då jag cyklat 210mil och vandrat 19km innan jag kommit fram till Kebnekaise så bestämde jag mig för att gå med guide för att underlätta toppturen så mycket som möjligt.

Då jag bokat en topptur med guide så var det ett obligatoriskt möte dagen innan. Där vi blev indelade i grupper, fick genomgång av utrustning. Vad som var bra att tänka på mm.

Det som ingår:
– Guide
– Säkerhetsutrustning (klättersele, hjälm samt gemensam utrustning för gruppen)
– Vandringsstavar och dagstursryggsäck
– Lunchpaket

 

Obligatorisk utrustning:
– Regnjacka och regnbyxor
– Underställströja (syntet eller ull)
– Förstärkningsplagg (fleece, softshell eller lätt dunjacka)
– Mössa
– Vandringskängor över fotknölarna, med rejäl sula
– Solglasögon
– Vattenflaska/flaskor (totalt 2 liter)
– 2 par handskar (minst 1 av paren ska vara ordentligt varma och vattentäta).

Bra att ha, ej obligatorisk utrustning:
– Termos
– Solskyddsfaktor
– Skavsårstejp

Fjällstationen var fullbokad och många sov i tält runt stationen. Några kommer dit utan att ha bokat boende i förväg. Då policyn är att alla som kommer dit ska få sova med tak över huvudet så stängdes duscharna kl 21 och omklädningsrummen städades ur och folk sov där inne. Jag hade sett till att boka boende i förväg där jag delade med så få andra som möjligt. Det var 5andra i rummet och det snarkades friskt under natten. Tips att ta med öronproppar om man är känslig. Alla är ute på olika äventyr med olika scheman. Den första gick och la sig runt 19.30 och det kom någon kom in rullandes vid 23.  Tycker att de flesta tog bra hänsyn till de andra med vissa undantag som vanligt.

Turen började kl 7.20 så klockan ringde kl 05.30 för att klä på sig och vara vi frukosten kl 06. Frukostarna på STF:s fjällstationer jag har varit på är utmärkta. Finns det mesta att välja på så att alla blir nöjda. Tyvärr inga våfflor här. Packade även lunchpaketet med mackor, ägg samt russin och deras egentillverkade bar.

Väderprognosen visade uppehåll men vind och dimma på toppen och precis så blev det. Medans vi gick nere i dalen var det riktigt varmt och skönt där det inte kom åt att blåsa. Redan här började fördelarna med att ha guide att visa sig. Vi gick i 30min i ett lugnt tempo sedan en kortare paus på ca 5min där vi kunde drick, äta, justera kläder och göra våra behov. Innan vi gick ut på glaciären var det lunchpaus i ca 20min då vi även sate på oss sele och hjälm. Vi band ihop oss i replag och traskade över glaciären. Det låg mycket snö på glaciären så vi slapp ha stegjärn med oss för att gå på isen. Efter glaciären kopplade vi in oss på Via Ferrata slingan och klättrade upp. Kul att få omväxling i vandrandet och avverka många höjdmeter på korttid. När klättringen är klar är det lätt vandring upp till toppen först över sten som sedan övergår till snö och glaciär. Det är denna glaciär som tyvärr håller på att smälta så att syd toppen snart inte är Sveriges högsta utan det är nordtoppen som ligger bredvid men är mycket mer otillgänglig och måste bestigas med utbildad bergsguide.

YES!!! Äntligen på toppen. Den känslan av att ha klarat sitt mål. Cyklat ca 210mil och sedan gått upp till toppen är så skön. Men har intalat mig att jag inte är klar förrän jag är nere på fjällstationen igen. Upp på toppen var det helt vindstilla så man kunde vara kvar där ett längre tag. Tyvärr hade vi dimma så sikten var inget att skryta över.

Vi tog samma väg ner. Klättrade Via Ferratan ner och sedan över glaciären. Sedan kom det jag längtat efter ett tag. Vi drog på regnbyxorna satte oss på rumpan och åkte ner för berget. Riktigt skönt för mitt högraknä som strulat sedan Hagfors. När guiden tackade för turen och grattade oss för att vi klarat av att komma upp och ner för berget kunde jag inte hålla tillbaka längre. En sån skön känsla att vara klar och ha klarat av ett sådant mål.

Innan jag fick fira med trerätters på restaurangen på fjällstation blev det en varm och skön dusch. Kan verkligen rekommendera att äta på restaurangen på fjällstationen. Deras förrättsbuffé är riktigt bra så även varmrätterna efterrätterna.

Precis som alla andra dagar under resan hade jag svårt att somna denna natt pga att kroppen är uppe i varv. Men när jag väl somnat sov jag så skönt och var riktigt nöjd med vad jag åstadkommit.
